Happy Fall Ya'll

It looks like fall around the Babbs house (despite the 90 degree temps!)

I found myself being pretty crafty lately...here's my latest creation! Tanner is still trying to figure it out.

Wolfpack Saturdays...

And there have been many lately. Don't get me wrong, I love fall, NC State football and tailgating. But I hate losing, 90 degree weather when it's suppose to be cooler and sunburn! That just about sums our season up so far, fellow wolfpackers understand. But we have managed to have some fun...the little guy at the end of the pictures is our entertainment at the games if that tells you anything. We call him "the little bull" and he likes to dance to the music on the jumbotron.

Alumni Exhibition at Meredith

Last month I was asked to participate in a gallery exhibition at Meredith. Here's the link to the article on the college website: http://www.meredith.edu/art/current-happenings.htm
The purpose was to give current undergrad design students a chance to "see what they could be doing" after graduation. At the opening we had a brunch in Belk dinning hall (forgot how much I loved the food, not...) and a panel discussion followed by a reception. It's up until mid-Nov. Here are a few pictures...

Current happenings coming soon...

I know, I know. We've been MIA on the blog lately. I promise to fill you in and include some pictures in the near future. Things are busy!

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

come on over...

and have dinner with us! We finally finished the dinning room, complete with table, chairs and curtians too. I have to say that I'm very happy with how it all came together, even if it did take 2 years! Now we just need some company...

Birthday in the Boro

I turned 26 on Sat. August 11th. Nick, Tanner and I went home to celebrate with the rest of our family. It was a good day, we went over to Hammocks Beach (thanks K!), then to Beaufort to see Nanny, and ended the day with dinner, presents and a movie. Thanks everyone, I love you all!

Just a few pictures from my day:

Mudcats Baseball

On Sunday we enjoyed the afternoon at the ballpark. My brother Jonathan has a summer internship with the Mudcats. I especially enjoyed seeing him dressed up as "Vortex Man" and run around like a crazy fool. He made my parents proud, haha. He also does more serious tasks...

The Family (J took the picture)

Nick and Vortex Man (also known as J)

Vortex Man in action, a crowd pleaser!

Proud Mama Vortex (a true sport)

J getting the little league team ready to run out on the field

Dog Tired

After a weekend of cleaning, Tanner is worn out. Not because he helped by any means...oh execpt for barking and chasing the vaccum around the house.

Big day on Thursday!

I, like Lauren, am starting to realize that there's not much to blog about if your life seems uneventful or you don't have a child. But I must post this exciting news...Nick has a job interview with Progress Energy on Thurs. afternoon. So if you think about it say a little prayer for him and that the Lord would make it clear whether he should make a move if the opportunity is given. Thanks ya'll!

Bathtime for T

So this morning was bathtime for little Tanner. He doesn't look forward to it, but he does seem to enjoy the bathtub better than the kitchen sink.

After the tub he likes to sun on the deck to dry off...such a handsome clean doggy!

Welcome baby Taylor Grace Turner

She's finally here! Amanda and Brent welcomed their sweet baby girl into the world around 7:30pm on Friday, June 29th. Taylor weighted 8lbs and 12oz. Congratulations Turner's, she's beautiful!

School's out for the summer!

Not much happening...other than Nick is done with his summer session of MBA classes, which is so worth blogging about. Thank you Lord! We can be a normal married couple for about 2 months...yeah!

Anniversay in Atlanta and HOW

The HOW Design conference was in Atlanta GA this year and it just so happened that our anniversary fell right in the middle of it, so Nick came along too. On June 12th we celebrated our 3rd anniversary! We had a great time. Went to the Braves game on Sat., shopped on Sun., had a nice dinner on Mon. and visited the Georgia aquarium on Tues. Oh and I did manage to attend the conference sessions, parties and grab some cool swag too. It was a busy trip but well worth it. Here are some pictures from our trip...

Giving in!

OK. So it seems the best way to update friends and family with what's going on in our life is to blog it. Therefore we're (well I (Dana), Nick will probably not ever post) officially starting the Babbs' blog. How exciting...here we go!
