The Blooming Tulip

I've been busy this year with weddings and other stationary jobs. New samples have been added to my online portfolio at www.thebloomingtulip.com. Check them out when you get a chance and remember to visit periodically for new designs. I'd love to get your feedback or help you with an upcoming project.

PS-more baby updates and other events coming next week!

kitchen upgrades complete!

Last weekend and throughout the week we worked on the kitchen. The under the cabinet lighting and the tile backsplash turned out just as we had hoped and looks great. Thanks Brent for doing the lights and helping start the tile! Take a look...

WRAL gardens

Every year Jen and I try to catch the tulips blooming at the WRAL gardens. This year I think we were a little late, but they were still pretty to look at. Despite the chilly day, Micah enjoyed running around and playing in the fountain. All in all, it was a nice break during the work day!

Growing baby bump

The baby bump is becoming more obvious every day!
These pictures are the first we have taken right at 15 wks.

I'm slowing starting to feel better and am getting some energy back. I think that I'd feel even better if it weren't allergy season, but hey, I'd have to deal with that regardless. We'll find out what baby Babbs is on May 4!

Ticker

Well, the baby news is blog official! I added the baby ticker to the left hand side of the blog. More details and pictures to come soon...

Baby on the way...

I bought this frame to use as a gift but after I discovered that I was pregnant, I decided to keep it for us. This is how I told Nick we were expecting. I wrote the message and put it in the frame. The funny part was that when I took the frame out of the package, it had cardboard stuck to it, so when I showed Nick I said, "Look we're going to have to take this frame back because it has something on it." (I think you can see it in the picture) Well, he was so focused on the piece of cardboard that he didn't even look at what was in the frame. Then all of a sudden, he got a big grin on his face and asked, "really?". I said yes, showed him the positive test and the rest is history!

These are the gifts I made for the new grandparents. They were thrilled to say the least!

We're almost 12 weeks along now and I'm looking forward to the 2nd trimester, feeling better and having more energy. Here's a peek at baby babbs from our last visit...

Of course we think our little bean is just precious and are looking forward to the journey ahead with anticipation and excitement!
