Charleston getaway

The first weekend in Feb. we were able to make a short trip to Charleston for a friend's wedding. I've been wanting to go since we got married so it was a good excuse to head on down! On Friday we took a carriage ride through most of the town and walked around the market area. Dinner at Hyman's was delicious. We rode over to Mt. Pleasant on Sat. to the Boone Plantation but decided to take a boat tour over to Ft. Sumter instead. It was so nice to be out on the water and we enjoyed exploring the fort. Afterwards we had lunch with Matt and Nina and then went to the wedding. Fun weekend overall!

As all of you are aware, I'm getting really good experience throwing baby showers for ALL of my friends who are expecting. The most recent shower was for a co-worker who is actually at the hospital today welcoming her first baby girl! The Road to 200...

I just wanted to let my husband know how proud I am of him for working so hard to get back to the weight he was when we first started dating (somewhere around 190, I think). Nick has lost 25 pounds since January 1! I better get movin' if I want to look as good as him!

Micah and Tanner

I enjoyed MLK day off and got to hang out with Micah and Jen. Micah is 9 months old today and is such a big boy, growing and learning new things so fast! This was Tanner and Micah's first offical "play date." It was going good until Tanner started barking and wanted to nibble on Micah's fingers, that's when he got put back in his room.

New Year's at the Biltmore

Well, we finally made it to Ashville to see the Biltmore! It was so worth it, that place is incredible. On Dec. 30th we did the candlelight tour followed by dinner at the Winery. The Christmas decorations in the house were unbelievable as was the house, it was our first time being inside. Dinner at the Winery was perfect, the food was delicious. New Year's eve we went back and did a "behind the scenes" tour in the house. I highly recommend it, just gives you a little more insight into the life of the Vanderbilt's in the house. After the tour and lunch at the Stable Cafe (another must) we went and explored the gardens, farms, stable, and barnyard. I'll post the pictures in parts since there are so many...

Christmas in Swansboro

We had a great Christmas. The whole month of December we had lots of parties to go to and got together with so many of our friends and their little ones. Once we got off work we headed home to spend time with family. It's always nice to be "home for the holidays."
